Australian Bell pty ltd was incorporated in 1998 to undertake the three projects commissioned by Melbourne Festival artistic director Sir Jonathan Mills: the 'Federation Bells Carillon Installation' at Birrarung Marr Park Melbourne (www.federationbells.com.au), the '2001 Federation Handbells' available for community use (in sets of 24 bells over a 2 octave range distributed by Melbourne Museum) and the 2 Octave set of Harmonic bells held by the MSO . As Director of Australian Bell, I continue to design, cast and tune both traditional European and Asian as well as new digitally designed single bells and musical sets of bells for communities and individuals, and to explore new bell design for interactive and participatory public-space artworks and installations.
